Aid-ly.org is a non-profit, open source website designed to connect communities with organizations. Our platform enables non-profit organizations to post their locations on an interactive map, allowing users to discover nearby opportunities where they can contribute their time and skills to meaningful causes—supporting local communities, environmental projects, and international initiatives. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali (GPDP).

  • Account Information: Only non-profit organizations are permitted to create accounts on our platform. The information collected during account creation includes:

      • last time it was updated
    • Public Posts:
      • title
      • description
      • location data (longitude and latitude)

  • Analytics: If you consent to cookies, we use Simple Analytics to collect and analyze data on how users interact with our site. This helps us improve our services without compromising your privacy.

  • Data Retention: We store your data indefinitely. Organizations can update their publicly available information at any time through the account management page (/en/org/).

Data Security

  • Encryption: All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is secured with HTTPS, courtesy of Cloudflare.
  • Password Protection: User passwords are stored securely using a hashing algorithm.
  • Cloudflare Proxy: All requests to our website are proxied through Cloudflare, providing protection against malicious traffic and other potential threats.

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties except as necessary to provide our services. Analytics data is only collected if you have consented to the use of cookies. Any third-party services used (e.g., Simple Analytics) are selected for their commitment to user privacy.

Geolocation Access and Mapping Services

  • Geolocation Access: Our website may request access to your device’s location to enhance your experience by showing nearby posts on our interactive map. This geolocation data is processed locally on your device and is not stored on our servers. If you decline to share your location, you can still manually browse the map.
